My Little Encyclopedia

My two and a half year old son and his ten year old cousin are equally entranced by this book. My two and a half year old likes to look at all the pictures - typical attention-grabby info dense DK graphics - while mummy ad libs to the text. He has learned that you can look things up when you need to know them - when we have an animal question he now runs to get at this book first, to see if the answer is inside. His cousin likes the book for reading herself, just for fun. I brought it on holiday for my son to play with and his cousin spent as much or more time with it.

Fantastic book!! My 2 young boys (who are very interested in animals and finding out about them!) love this book! Plenty of details and species to really keep their interest! Dad and I have also learnt a lot too! It's winning point is also that it's a really practical size for small hands and laps - a real hit in the car also! I've also bought it as presents for other children.

Excellent!!! My children love it. It is very small and the content is unbelievably gd. The colour of the animals are so vivid.
