Review: This book has helped me a lot with my studies. Though it is detailed it is easy to understand when combined with lectures in university. May be a hard subject to grasp if there is no one you can go and talk to to clarify and questions you may have. This book is perfect for anyone studying sport science who will study any modules on metabolism.

Review: The paperback version of the book is printed in black and white which is a big problem when it comes to trying to understand many of the charts/figures in the book - most of the 42 charts (figures) in chapter 9 and 31 charts (figures) in chapter 10 (and others throughout the book) use various colours to represent different things - of course the different colours become the same shade of grey in the black and white printing making the charts (figures) impossible to understand. The publishers Wiley-Blackwell have caused this problem - they obviously didn't research what the effect of using a black and white printing would do to the book's figures which were clearly created specifically for a coloured version of the book. This is such a shame as the authors have produced a really great book in terms of content and pedagogy. However, in my opinion Amazon should not be selling a book in a form (black & white) that makes many parts of it unreadable by the buyer.
