Review: I like the series, they are funny and tell some of the lesser told parts of history. One have to remember that they are written for 10-15 year old-ish. the author have said that it is difficult not to write something wrong, because the first constants used to be considered the truth, but by the time the rest of the book had been written, those truths had been disproved. Also a good theme in the books is that you shouldn't always believe what a historian have written, because the winner writes the history.

Review: 'Fish out the facts from the fiction and discover the terrible truth about the great Irish city and its horrible history. Plot your path to the past with the frightful fold-out map and take a tour of the city's sights. Picnic with pirates at St Stephen's Green, creep around the cruel cathedrals, then head to Dublin Castle where traitors were tortured and cut-throat Irish chieftains fought to the death.' Written with the usual Terry Deary wit, this is a history book dedicated to the city of DUBLIN. A colourful card cover opens to 96 busy pages, split over main chapters: 1. Early Dublin Timeline 2. Viking Dublin 3. The blood-dripping Battle of Clontarf 4. Middle Ages Dublin 5. Cruel cathedrals 6. Dublin quick quiz 7. Tudor and Stuart Dublin 8. Crime and punishment 9. Dublin Castle 10. Georgian to 20th Century Timeline 11. A few foul places to visit 12. Nasty 1916 rebellion ...with an introduction & an epilogue. Also includes a 'frightful fold-out map', from the front cover and a fold-out from the back cover, entitled: ~ 'The Horrible Highlights of Dublin' Written in various fonts, with numerous & often humorous black & white illustrations.
