Review: THAT SOMEWHERE HAS THIS BOOK IN STOCK BECAUSE YOU NEED TO GET THIS RIGHT NOW!! As soon as I realised (just a couple of days ago) that this book was selling her I ordered one immediately (used- never read) for £2.81 including delivery (book itself was a penny) from a marketplace seller, shipped and arrived a day earlier than it was supposed to come and I'm very happy. This book gives a bit more of a flat guide to the reaping, the games and the tributes. Printed well and in colour it goes through both the book and the movie genres of The Hunger Games talking about the original 24 tributes of the 74th annual Hunger Games. This book is fun, interesting, a smaller and thicker book than you'd expect (not a wavy thin, sticker-type book) This book is fabulous and perfect for any fan, I know this isn't the books fault but it gives no names of most of the tributes (the ones that are not the main) it gives a weapon of choice, name, district, age and height printed on quality paper in colour slotted in order through the districts (Starting with Glimmer from District 1) I adore this it gives more info and help pointing things out that fans of the movie who haven't read the book would find very useful. (I have read the book though so it only reinforces that is written there). Very nice, worth the money and the read, perfect gift or a nice little treat for yourself to go on display and love forever :3

Review: The product description describes the Tribute Guide in the following manner (typo copied directly - they didn't even take the time to proof read this description!): "The ultimate guide to the twenty-four Tributes participating in Panem's 74th annual Hunger Games. Follow the Tributes' journey from the Reaping to the Games, with a look at all teh highlights along the way. Get exclusive information about the Tributes' strengths and weaknesses, their weapons of choice, and their training before entering the arena." A number of Tributes were secondary or ternary characters and it would have slowed the pace of The Hunger Games if Suzanne Collins went into more detail of all the Tributes and their districts in the book. This means she created empathy for a number of characters without allowing the reader to hear their story. From the product description of the Tribute Guide I expected the compiler to have worked with Collins to fill in the gaps left in the books. Instead the Tribute Guide consists of a series of images with small pockets of information taken from the books, just leaving blanks on any of the information not contained in The Hunger Games. It mainly re-tells Katniss and Peeta's journey in synopsis form, with little more than a nod to the other Tributes (aside from filling the centre pages with a page shot of each character from the film.) It feels as if this was pulled together by a marketing executive in an afternoon with no consultation with the author of The Hunger Games. This book was a great disappointment. I freely admit that I have been naive to the core aims of brand merchandising in purchasing this book and would urge you to not make this mistake!
