Review: I love this book. The first thing that struck me was how completely gorgeous the illustrations are - stunning, just beautiful. The way the trees are drawn in particular is a wonderful mix of simple and effective and attractive. There are lovely little details included too, a castle, a boat, lots more. I love the look of this book. The drawings are beautifully complemented by the lovely, flowing prose. The wording of the story is carefully chosen and works well. The story itself is terrific too, like The Crocodile Who Didn't Like Water, the main character is at odds with their family because of different interests. Tina the cow does manage to change her sisters' point of view and the book celebrates being able to share our differences. My son is a huge fan of The Crocodile Who Didn't Like Water, which also examines how wonderful being different can be, and he enjoyed reading this book just as much. We were delighted to see the dragon in this book too! Since we bought The Cow Who Climbed A Tree for him, his is the only opinion which really matters regarding this book in this house, and it's safe to say he is delighted with his new favourite bedtime story. I'm sure it would go down a treat in any playgroup, nursery, early years classroom or library story telling session, it'd be a great present for any budding reader. It's funny, sweet, gorgeous and we can't wait to read it again.

Review: Bought this for my son birthday. This book did not live up to the excitement of 'The crocodile who didn't like water'. This was boring in comparison and seems like a different author wrote it. And I know my son won't like it at much as the crocodile book. Very disappointed after waiting for so long for this to be released. All in all it is an 'Okay' book. If I read it in a book store I would not have bought it :(

Now, Cosmo wants to have a conversation with the tree. In this outstanding debut collection for children, Stephen Lightbown draws on his own personal experiences as a wheelchair user, while creating a unique and utterly engaging character in Cosmo. Written in Cosmo's voice and peppered with contributions from the boy's family, these poems take the reader on a journey of challenges, questions, hurts, explorations and triumphs. Cosmo is endlessly open and curious, and his observations and reflections are at once perceptive, raw, hilarious, confronting and enchanting. How can Cosmo come to terms with, and adapt to, this seismic change in his life? Is his life as he knew it gone?
