Review: When the summary of the book mentioned that it was like Harry Potter I was intrigued and bought the first few books. The plot seemed interesting and had lots of potential (I mean a creepy story about a missing twin- what could go wrong?) however the writing was simple and not one bit like Harry Potter which I found quite annoying! The series just went downfall from the first book and I soon found out that the writing was intended for younger readers which was quite irritating as I am 12 years old. The writing was not creepy at all and I am quite sad that I bought the first 4 books of the series- what a waste of money and time! I cannot force myself to read the rest of the series, it was terribly tedious just to plough through the 3rd and 4th book, therefore I will rate this book 2 stars as I feel guilty of just rating it 1. It is quite sad and infuriating to see many good reviews as I thoroughly expected this book to be a very good read. Despite the amazing 5 star reviews this book is not a page-turner and the main characters are shallow and not developed enough for my taste. Perhaps I am being too harsh after reading other detective/thriller books. I do not recommend this book for readers of Harry Potter and I do not think the book is a thriller. It is probably suited for younger readers who get scared easily. There is weak, bland detective air to this book. I am upset for buying this book :(
