Review: When our baby was born, we had a nightmarish first 6 months with reflux (2 hours sleep max) and so we had no routine and she would only fall asleep/ sleep on us. To cut a long story short, we tried everything, we are both first time parents and we didn't know where to start, so we started reading... A few people had recommended the Ferber book, so we gave it a try. The first night, we were worried sick, it took about 25 mins of protesting and then silence...and she slept through! Not only that, but she has slept through every night since. We even used it to do the napping routine during the day. One thing I would say is that if you do have reflux or some other medical problem, get that sorted first before trying this. Honestly, it changed everything for us. Recommended.

Review: I know the baby whisperer knows everything about babies, but this book only left me feeling stressed and frustrated. The tone in the book is very hard. It made me feel that if this didn't work for me it is all my fault and I am a bad parent. It did not feel organised to me and it was hard to look something up that I was wondering about. The "pick up" technique to help my baby sleep is something I did for weeks. My back was in so much pain and my baby unhappy. Finally I was in tears. Now I just stay in the room with her until she sleeps. Keeping a hand on her if she is upset, and that works perfectly. My baby is happy and I get to sleep through the night. I would recommend the books written by the Super nanny. They are straight to the point and has a pleasant tone.
