Regardless of the type of incident, child witnesses often react by trying to forget or ignore the experience. When their feelings are pushed underground in this manner, these children may begin to feel bad in ways they don't understand, and become angry as a result of feeling bad. It is this anger that can give way to violence. Caring adults can make all the difference by helping children talk about and understand the experience. An afterword by Sasha J. Review: As a child counsellor, I use this book frequently and is just the thing to help children make sense of the reactions they feel to witnessing or experiencing a bad event. It also reminds children it's not their fault what happened which is an essential message for them. Sometimes having this in a book makes the truth of this statement more 'official'.

Review: As a Playtherapist I often use stories. This one illustrates PTSD at a level that quite young children can understand. For me it was a catalyst for some important work with a very traumatised child. I have since recommended this book to colleagues.
