Review: I had high hopes for this book but i was left disappointed. I was expecting to find reviews on other vegetable waxes other than soy and beeswax, i was really hoping for a review on rapeseed wax at least, but that was no where to be found. The only section that i found helpful was where she spoke about the business aspect of this industry - how to position yourself, finding your niche, presenting your products to gifts shops to sell, writing proposals, etc. The problem I have with this book is that she speaks with so much conviction, so much so, that if i'd not done my own research beforehand, I would've honestly believed paraffin wax is a safe wax to burn when in fact it isn't, when it burns it releases toxic gases into the atmosphere hence why people are turning to the "safer" waxes. There was also little talk of soy which surprised me, i was expecting her to touch on the debate of deforestation but she didn't. Needless to say, some information doesn't tally with the information I've read from from more reliable sources; to make matters worse, this book was published in 2017 so i feel that more research could've been done in the areas of waxes before releasing this book.
