Review: I'm currently training as a Dramatherapist and this book is on the recommended reading for one of my uni modules. I have to say that I've found it really helpful on both an academic level and to incorporate into my practise on placements. I know a few people have talking of 'dumbing-down' of the neuro science but I really didn't find that. I'm studying at master's-degree level although admittedly I do not have a science background at all. As I understand it that is really the point with this book, and as someone who is studying and practising a humanistic psychotherapy I found the book to be what it claims in the title - A practical guide to interpersonal neurobiology. I have not yet finished the book but have found it has inspired me to look further into the research that really does affect the field in which I am hoping to work. I wanted an introduction to the field and I found that, and a lot more contained within this book. I really would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn the basics or who studies/practises psychotherapy.
