Review: There's so much to dislike about this book, I made it to page 70 and had to stop. This book is chock full of metaphors or real world comparisons to situations you'll encounter as a graphic designer, so far most of the time they hone in on the emotions or physical traits of women which makes my skin crawl. In lists talking about the best attributes of each of the team, it's the woman (the only one on the list) that's 'good at organising', it's a female designer that was "too sensitive" after he leaned over her desk and critiqued her work as he was merely walking by. There's an entire chapter is titled "Hairy Moles" it kicks off by saying "moles, freckles, birthmarks, we all have some sort of skin "abnormalities" that's just part of life" and goes on to claim that if "Cindy Crawford had had a hair mole "even the most lustful men in the world would probably not been able to look past it". I'm a professional of 18 years and hold one of the most senior positions in a creative agency. This book was recommended to me as being good for those starting out in creative business as I was looking for something for some new material for a mentee I have currently and the more junior members on my team - thank god I read it first. This book really serves no purpose other than to capture the ego and "achievements" of the author and keep engraining tired, aged stereotypes. Very little value and it's going straight in the recycling.
