Review: Lilly’s world has come crashing down when her soon-to-be husband slips a note under the door to say that he can’t do this… right before she is due to walk down the aisle. Friends and family rally around her, however, she wakes up the following morning deciding that she’s going to go on their honeymoon to Thailand – alone. Frantic packing and a mad dash to the airport she makes it to the plane, where she spots Damien who is giving her some funny looks. After realising why he is looking she is mortified, but a chance bump to his head and her vomiting leads to them meeting and chatting. Arriving in Thailand she feels lost but spots Damien and offers for him to stay with her until he finds a place to stay (he’s backpacking across the world). They have fun together, making her forget about her recent wedding trauma. Although she’s conflicted about the attraction she feels towards him. He’s not anything like her previous boyfriends, which is maybe a good thing. They spend two weeks together, however, as she is getting ready to head home, he invites her to continue backpacking with him. But she feels she needs to head home. Was this just a fun fling, a way of getting over her wedding?

Review: Read this series out of order and so glad I did or I wouldn't have got further than this book. Found myself skipping pages. It felt like I was stuck with one of those bores droning on about their fabulous gap year adventures - the amazing little bar, the darling little pool we all went skinny-dipping in etc. Biggest problem though was the hero just wasn't very heroic. Despite being footloose and fancy free, did he come for her? Did he fight for her? No. I found Damien pointless and hedonistic. It all left me feeling dissatisfied. Which is a shame because Jo Watson is usually a good read (even if she stretches credibility in places which is forgivable because it's for the laughs).
