Description: Indigo Ridge : Paperback : Devney Perry : 9781950692491 : 1950692493 : 26 Oct 2021 : Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana's new chief of police, she's determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn't earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor. According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town's founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town and she didn't realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty. Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she's trying to forget. He's insufferable, arrogant and keeps reminding everyone that she's an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths. As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy's own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer. Review: New chief of police Winslow comes back to Quincy where her grandfather lives to start a new chapter in her life. Griffin Eden works on his family’s ranch that is owned by his parents and his love life is meeting tourists who come through during the holiday months and he has a one-night stand with Winslow, thinking she is a tourist. They are forced together when a young girl is found dead on his land and she is leading the investigation into the case. They have a spark, a strong attraction and they find themselves drawn together very quickly. As they investigate the case and other cold cases they fall in love. I adore the Eden family, the setting of this book and everything about this small-town romance Perfect ??????????

Review: 3.5 stars This is the first book I’ve read by this author, it’s been on my tbr list for a while. I’m a big fan of romantic suspense and small town romance so this had the best of both worlds for me. Winslow was making a fresh start in the small town where her grandfather lived and she visited as a child. Even though she had family ties to the town she was still considering an outsider. On her first night in town she has a one night stand with Griffin who she doesn’t think lives in town and he thinks she’s a tourist. It turns out she is the new Chief of Police and his family practically own the town. Neither want a relationship, but they can’t seem to stay away from each other. When a body is found it looks like another young woman has committed suicide, but Winslow isn’t so sure. Her investigation causes some friction between them and puts some strain on their relationship which both are reluctant to call a relationship. I found the mystery a little lacking, the big reveal was very sudden, I would have liked more of a lead up. We learned a fair bit about Winnie’s back story, but not an awful lot about Griffin, maybe this is because he lived a fairly quiet life before he met Winnie? Overall I did enjoy the story and will definitely read more in the series.
