Review: It’s surprisingly well written - humorous - entertaining and well paced with lots of individual character stories which are brilliantly outlined and described . James Herriot is not shy about revealing some of his own shortcomings as he lives and works among the people in this area of Yorkshire and his obvious love of animals and the enormous efforts he goes to as he does his best for them in all weather and at all times is truly admirable . I really recommend this book

Review: Great book even if you’ve watched the tv shows as I have numerous times this book is certainly worth a read most of the stories are in the tv episodes but not always the same format just finished it great
