Description: * The books of Alice A. Bailey, written in cooperation with a Tibetan teacher between 1919-1949, constitute a continuation of the Ageless Wisdom--a body of esoteric teaching handed down from ancient times in a form which is always suitable to each period. Intended to precede and condition the coming era, the Alice A. Bailey writings offer an unparalleled spiritual approach to such subjects as the teaching on Shamballa and the Path of spiritual evolution; the spiritual Hierarchy; the new discipleship and training in meditation as a form of service; the teaching on the seven rays and the new psychology of the soul; the teaching on esoteric astrology; and the new world religion, which emphasizes the common thread of truth linking all the major world faiths. Review: Been reading Bailey (A.A.B.) for 25 years or more. Appropriately, 'Ponder on This' was the first volume given me 25yrs ago and I've purchased this copy for a friend as an introduction for them. Loosely speaking it is an introduction to a large and comprehensive set of volumes about 'Life' (16 or more), and is a compilation that contains a list of subjects from those 16 volumes with one or two pages of extracts on each subject. Subjects diverse as: "Crime, Crisis, Criticism, Death, Fear, Joy, Knowledge, Love, Reincarnation" and on and on (186 in total). It is not a book I would thrust on someone, but one to offer with humility and without expectation. In my opinion it is an entrance ticket to the most enlightened and comprehensive explanation of life ever written (certainly in modern times), but does requires a modest degree of flexible thinking from the reader - with some subjects much easier to read than others. The larger volumes - subjects are drawn from, combine to paint a picture of Life and Nature that can only be described as 'Revelationary', but will likely take a lifetime or more to read and understand. I recommend this book most strongly to anyone seeking to learn more about the truth of life. 10*/10. And hope this helps?
