Review: This astounding book by the author M.K.Hume is the 1st volume of the Prophecy (Merlin) trilogy. The storytelling is really excellent by this author, and she uses her knowledge and learning about this period of history in her own kind of way, and whether you agree with her or not at least she's giving us an option to start believing in this legendary history. It's a fascinating story about Myrddion Merlinus from birth to boyhood after his mother, as a twelve-year old girl, was raped by a fugitive and his mother being the granddaughter of the King of the Deceangli tribe. And because he's spurned as a demon seed the boy is raised by his grandmother and as soon as he turns nine he's apprenticed to a skilled healer who hones his remarkable gift. Rebuilding the ancient fortress at Dinas Emrys, the High King of the Celts, Vortigern, must use the blood of a demon seed because according to prophecy it will make the towers stand firm, while at the same time the boy Myrddion Merlinus has a prophecy of his own and to fulfil his destiny he manages to make Vortigern look as the harbinger of chaos. What follows is an exciting and thrilling story about Celtic life, of evil and power and tribal wars that rule this Kingdom of the Celts. A very engrossing and entertaining tale from an author worthy following, and that's why I like to call this book "Mighty Magical Merlin Part 1"!
