Review: As an opening volume, the story holds your attention. I shall look forward to the 2nd. The artwork is a little hit and miss at times but when it does hit, it's really quite cool - blending realism with cartoonish qualities and a more than generous spoonful of manga thrown in too. It's a relatively gory one (at times, not all the way through) so not one for the kiddies. But yeah, give it a bash ????????

Review: I really like these books but they're more like an action film than a drama which is why the rating is lower than you'd otherwise expect. The art and character design are very good, the setup is interesting (and later episodes hint at some interesting lore) the dialogue is probably the best part about it. However it is very action driven (not necessarily a bad thing) and as such you will probably read it quicker than you'd like and there isn't much food for thought. Out of all the western comics I've recently read this feels more Manga than any of them and that's actually a good thing. Definitely worth checking out if you're into comics but it wouldn't be the first title I'd recommend to others.
