Review: “Something is Killing the Children 3” collects issues #11-15 of this Dark Buffy series, and brings the first storyline to a conclusion, though the next volume is already listed on Amazon, and I have asked my local library to order it. This is another excellent volume, with the ‘monsters’ getting quotation marks as the ‘Watchers’ come to town to ‘Silence’ the witnesses. I’m sorry, but the Buffy references are far too easy to use, even though the story is, well, obviously inspired/influenced by what has gone before – but ALL comics since 1939 are mostly derivative of what went before. The trick is to make the new ones readable and entertaining, and add a new twist or twist an old twist, or something. This is one which appears to transcend its influences, and be readable and entertaining too. I am here for the duration.
