Review: After the tragic events of volume 1, the creative team decided to use the second volume to reveal how the biggest bastard of the south - Euless Boss - became the most feared and powerful person in Craw County. Perhaps the most surprising aspect is the shift in perspective; the antagonist of the first volume is now the protagonist of this one. Each issue is used to reveal how Coach Boss' past shaped him into who he is in the present and without revealing too much it is both surprisingly moving and tragic. As someone who absolutely loathed Euless Boss I found myself feeling more sympathetic towards him as more of his past was revealed. It is this achievement that made this volume such a resounding success in my opinion, and the fantastic artwork and use of colours to differentiate the time shifts between both past and present compliment the story being told magnificently. The creative team also tease where the story will be headed in the future, and I am incredibly excited to see what direction this story will take under their stewardship. The first volume; here was a man showed this series had potential. The second transforms Southern Bastards into one of the best comics being published. Buy it. You won't regret it at this price. It's a steal!
