Review: I've so far crocheted the owl and the pear, and am looking to start the little houses. I've just finished the owl pattern. I've only been crocheting for 2 or 3 months so I'm very happy with how it turned out. I altered the pattern slightly just to suit my tastes (head slightly bigger, decreased a little more around the neck areas and added a dash of metallic embroidery to the tummies alongside the coloured thread). I'm looking forward to trying out the rest; I hope that the quality of my work improves as I work my way through the book. I admit I didn't use the yarn recommended as it wasn't available from my favoured supplier. I used a well known 4ply mercerized cotton yarn that isn't pricey at all, as well as generic metallic thread and embroidery thread. The patterns are charming, beginner friendly as they clear and easy to read. Another beginner friendly attribute is the smaller sizes, as it can feel like a gamble to use so much yarn when you are less confident in your abilities. The patterns are easy to adjust to individual tastes, there are even pictured variations on colour and a few minor features, which is a nice touch. With that in mind I would recommend this collection of patterns to crocheters of all abilities. Looking forward to more from the artist. They have a new fan!
