Review: Nice looking hardback edition. I got the 1st 2 volumes and looking forwards to more. At least 2 more in the pipeline, all matching and worth collecting if you enjoy reading his comics.

Review: i love a lot of jodorowsky's work, and this volume is no exception. however... clowns embroiled in the moral sinkhole that was ww2 era europe is a dubious and fraught cultural genre, and here we have jodo's entry. mileage varies wildly on this stuff (jerry lewis vs. roberto benigni anyone? no takers?) my own personal mileage is very low, and so pietrolino, the second tale collected here, is in my view, laughable. but buy this for son of the gun, a horrifically violent,gleefully transgressive, magnificently drawn piece of low art melodrama pastiche. grotesque, troubling, exploitative, drenched in not-subtle religious imagery, this is not for the faint of heart. hamlet meets scarface, as directed by paul schrader, and maybe almost as good as the incal.
