Review: Hats off to the creators of this major work on men's fashion. However, the glaring failure for me is no mention of Playboy Magazine or it's creator Hugh Heffner. From the mid 1950's at least through the 1970's, Playboy Magazine and Hefner were major influences in the US on men's fashion and lifestyle. They should have been mentioned. There is an East Coast, Euro, LA focus to the book. They found Lucius Beebe but forgot Wilkes Bashford, a major shaper of Northern California men's fashion for many years. A longterm and continuing influence of men's fashion has been the military. The introduction gives short shrift to this major influencer. The Burberry trench gets mention as does Vietnam's impact but no mention of the British Warm, or great coat. No recognition that very shape of the men's suit derived from military influence. This list is long, but this should suffice. On a minor note, the cover of my book will not stay flat. It rises through some strange method of levitation.
