Review: Having enjoyed the challenges in book 1, I couldn't wait to get hold of book 2. I wasn't disappointed. The puzzles start at deadly (of which there are 100) and move on to Extra Deadly (10 puzzles). These really exercise your mental arithmetic! A target time is given for each puzzle, gradually getting longer as you progress through the book. However, once you get used to the techiniques involved I find that the times are overly pessimistic. The hardest puzzles indicate a time of 2 hours 30 minutes, yet I completed most of the Extra Deadly puzzles in under an hour. I await book 3 with anticipation and look forward to something even more challenging!

Review: Having done the first book of this series, I started off in the same vein with this one. That is, I entered in the possibles in each square when the answer was in doubt. I soon found that this was unnecessary and just about every puzzle in the book can be done without any working out and just using my memory. There were perhaps five or so that did require some jotting down of possibilities. Even using this method, in an attempt to eke out a little more difficulty from each puzzle, most were done in around 30 minutes and some only took around 10. I am clearly quite good at these puzzles but certainly no world beater and overall, I have found this book to be far too easy. I will move on to book three and hope to find more of a challenge. I do wish that compilers would stop pussyfooting around with easy puzzles and give the consumer something that really would test us. It's still the "hardest" series of books that I have yet found for Killer - most that are labelled as "hard" are ridiculously simple.
