Review: It is another of my go to books. I would very highly recommend this book. Easy to read, easy to follow the staps and Merisa Pear really has put all her teaching from heart into this book. It is one of the very best books on confidence building I would very highly recommend you to have this book.

Review: Why do so many self help books promise so much and yet deliver so little? As a bit of a NLP/Hypno hobbier, I'm always on the lookout for a self help book that will not just be a regurgitation of commonly known material but instead actually deliver on the expectation of making a difference. I have to say that Marisa's book takes a good step in this direction. It has a positive feel about the way it is written and more often than not offers sound advice in a way that hits home. If you are new to self help then this is a really good starting place. So why have I only given it three stars? Well, firstly, I'm a tough customer and have high expectations. Secondly, there is still too much 'common' material in this book. It really winds me up when a chapter is written in such a way that you start to feel that the author has really got you in mind, then they make a few references along the lines of 'and I'll show you some amazing techniques to overcome this later in this chapter', which of course just builds up your hopes. But, at the end of the chapter you are presented with the same old approach used in every other book that failed to help you. Now, some would argue that it's not the tools that are at fault but the reader, however this is rubbish as the purpose of the book is to bring on change. If it doesn't then it is failing in its job. It's such a shame as bits of this book are extremely well written (could do with being more succinct in parts ). And the final nail in the coffin is the CD...referenced repeatedly throughout the book as though it's some magical hypnotic tool...but it isn't. I think the CD was the most disapointing bit for me, it actually would have been better had I not listened to it as it broke the illusion of someone who is a pro at this. Issues with CD: Not enough hypnotic work before jumping into barking her orders, too fast, annoying habbit around how she ends each sentence. If you want to see how Milton Erickson (the founder of modern day hypnosis) would have done it try looking up Dr Stephen Gillian in the USA....he was one of Milton's students and will blow you mind.
