Review: Baby Blues is one of my top twelve favorite comic strips along with Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, Hagar, Zits, Nancy and Beetle Bailey. I've enjoyed the strips a long time and I've seen Baby Blues books owned by other people. When I decided to finally get one of the books myself, I obviously wanted to start at the beginning. The first book obviously gives away the strip's progressive nature of letting the kids age naturally, unlike Calvin or Charlie Brown who stayed perpetually in the first grade. It tells the story of Zoe's birth and has several repetitive strips about the pangs of not getting sleep around a newborn. There's also umpteen strips devoted to spitting up and the debate of natural or store-bought diapers. What it doesn't have are strips with the modern witty repartee of the toddlers the strip is more known for, but it does show the typical style of humor one has come to expect from the strip.
