Review: George is a bear with a problem – he is bored and rather fed up with bear things – when, one day, he finds a book. So, George decides to find the owner of the book and ask them to teach him how to read it. The other bears laugh and, once George gets to the town, things don’t improve. However, then George finds the little girl who lost the book and she suggests that George learns to read with her. This is a lovely book about the joy of discovering words and reading, the way books bring readers together and the pleasure of learning to read. The illustrations and humour are wonderful and the book is a joy to read aloud. I have long loved Emma Chichester Clark – her books are always something special and this is no exception. Perfect for ages 3+ and a good starting point for any child who needs a little encouragement if they are struggling with reading or who simply love books!

Review: Simply lovely, very sweet story. Lovely art work. I'd highly recommend this book to parents of young children, however my 8 year old loved it too.
