Review: An excellent way of learning to groove the blues on bass. I play a short scale bass, as I'm used to the scale length of a guitar. I found that I was struggling with the timing of the notes in the slow blues section. The way I got round this was, playing with headphones and using a DAW on my laptop (Reaper in my case), I panned the audio track all the way to the left stereo channel, and my bass guitar all the way to the right. This made it much easier to A. Hear what I was supposed to be playing, and B. Hear what I was actually playing. By using a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), you can also limit the number of bars you are working on and get it to repeat over and over. I set it to play only the first couple of bars, then gradually lengthen the selection until all 12 (usually) bars have been played. Hope this is useful.

Review: I got this book for my husband, who just got a bass guitar and loves the blues. He is enjoying the book very much, but did say that the book does not advise on fingering to be used and could promote bad habit for anyone starting out. Additionally, if you are using your phone to listen and play along the audio tracks they switch off based on your phone settings.
