Review: Offer from a Gentleman”, by Julia Quinn???? The third of the Bridgerton books! I read the first two books in 2020 and didn’t want to read the third until Benedict’s season was about to premier on Netflix, but then what did they do? Announce Colin’s season instead ??????????? So I’m now trying to power through Benedict’s AND Colin’s before season 3 comes to Netflix in 2023 ???? Delving into AOFAG now, it’s intended to be a Cinderella retelling. I’m not keen on Cinderella, but I was interested to see what Quinn was going to do with it. I didn’t enjoy the storyline as much as I did books 1 and 2; perhaps that’s because of the Cinderella thing ????(I have seen plenty of really positive reviews). I loved book 1 because I was obsessed with the Netflix series, and I was OBSESSED with book 2 because I loved what went on with Anthony and Kate (if you haven’t read book 2 then I recommend you do; it’s TOTALLY different to the TV series). I did love the spark between Benedict and Sophie though; it’s clear that was there from the beginning, and that’s what matters. I love how Quinn changed up the Cinderella story, and I enjoyed the tension at the end and how Benedict and Sophie finally got together, though I felt like there was such a long slog getting there, the pace was pretty slow and it was a bit of a push (for me) to keep reading. ??????
