Review: I purchased this book for my son who is 3 and a 1/2 years old, along with another one in the seriesZap!: Alphablocks Phase 3 (Fiction) (Phonics Bug) He loves the Alphablocks & was tremendously excited whilst waiting for them to arrive. After we had sat down & he read the story to me, he said: "It's very short, isn't it Mummy?". Not the reaction I was hoping for, albeit one that I agree with! This book in particular is 12 pages long, & the other one I purchased is only 8 pages! Rather a disappointment in this respect, as although I'm not looking for a weighty tome, I would have hoped that when spending over £3 for a book, it would have more content than this. I appreciate that the language & storyline need to be kept simple, but this unfortunately seems to be a little too simple, & a little too short. I would have thought that a child interested in learning to read, or even just wishing to look at the Alphablocks characters & listen to the story read by a parent or sibling, would have an attention span which could be held for more than 8 or 12 pages. Hey ho, at least the brevity of the book hasn't dampened my son's enthusiasm for reading (or Alphablocks!)
