Review: Great little introduction to chemistry. Supports GCSE or similar and handy reference guide for more advanced or professional courses. Affordable revision aid at a good price. Tone is straight forward and conversational so easy to comprehend in a non-patronising way.

Review: This book serves as a good basic introduction to chemistry. I believe, although it is not made that clear, that it is oriented towards an introductory U.S. chem course; as such, it has an extensive section on pollution that seemed unnecessary. It also has some sections dedicated to top ten chemicals, chemists, etc.. I would have preferred more "straight" chemistry, and these later sections I found less helpful. Still, it is a good introductory book and I would recommend it to anyone who is not that familiar with the subject.
