Review: I bought this book for my 7 ( nearly 8) year old granddaughter, who had recently become interested in crystals & various stones. She has quite a collection now. So wanting to encourage her knowledge & understanding, I searched & found this book, which I am delighted with. It was bought as a Christmas present & her face when she unwrapped it was lovely. It is well illustrated with many colour pictures & is quite comprehensive, giving basic background on the various types of rocks/minerals & the processes involved in their formation. Her reading ability is quite good & so she was able to follow the explanations given as some of the information ie volcanos, fossils etc, ties in with her school work. The book size is also good for the younger reader. All in all an excellent buy.

Review: Great book but I'm sure it used to be larger ? Print size is very very very annoyingly small and no this isn't an age thing!!
