Review: If you've read these before you'll know what to expect. For new readers it's a crime whodunit in the era of the 20s in Yorkshire. Fans of Maisie Dobbs books will love them. I don't like giving spoilers. But you can see its to do with the theatre. Looking forward to the next book. They are not hard to read, but enjoyable. They have a flow about them, a beginning middle and end. Perhaps the end for me is a bit brief. But apart from that. Very good.

Review: I've read all of the previous books in the series and this is the first major mis-step. It waffled and got boring, and just lacked direction and impetus. It was as though another person had written it. It's rather put me off reading any more of hers. I might try the next one, and if that's as poor I shall abandon the series, which is a shame because they've been enjoyable and amusing. But this one? No, not up to the usual standard.
