Description: Despite the increasing number of people moving towards a plant-based diet, there are no clear, evidence-based mainstream books for children or families. It can be overwhelming to switch to a plant-based diet, and you may have no idea where to start or how to introduce the diet to your family. How to Eat Plant-Based is not just a simple cookery book, but a guide that incorporates scientific research and data to help families put together balanced meals with family friendly recipes. In this guide, Ella debunks the common myths surrounding a plant-based diet, shares her experiences of cooking as a family and emphasises the importance of making the plant-based diet accessible for all ages. Review: Well written, comprehensive and interesting. It also has loads of easy tasty recipes. The gnocchi and butter bean bake is my personal favourite.

Review: Have so far tried the dahl bake which was okay but nothing special - if you’re going to put a dahl recipe in a cook book it needs to be extra tasty as there are amazing dahl recipes in almost every vegan cookbook these days. Also made the leek gratin bake pictured, I followed the recipe religiously, and it was so flavourless that we actually had to run down the road to get a bag of chips for dinner instead. imo some of the meals require the cook to have two nannies, a £400 weekly food budget and a kitchen with an island plus endless work surface to compete even the most basic of recipes. I bought because it’s advertised as a family friendly plant based cook book, but looking closer a lot of the recipes are just too complicated for your average weekday family meal (I suppose excluding the jacket potato ideas….) hence why I suggest in order to use this cookbook you will need to have a nanny or children who will sit quietly and not be in and out of the kitchen asking when dinner will be ready. I’m just disappointed really.
