Description: When Diana: Her True Story was first published in 1992 it changed the way the public viewed the British monarchy. Never before had a senior royal spoken in such a raw, unfiltered way about her marriage, her hopes and fears and her extraordinary life inside the House of Windsor. An icon in life and a legend in death, Diana continues to fascinate and now, more than twenty-five years on, Andrew Morton has revisited the secret tapes he and the late princess made, to reveal startling new insights into her life and mind. A unique literary classic, Diana: Her True Story is the closest we will ever come to her autobiography. Review: I see what the author did. The first part of the book with Diana’s recordings. Which I have to say didn’t always paint her in a good light, seemingly very up and down and random. Taken with a pinch of salt though as I understand that she’s chatting! You can clearly hear her voice in these transcripts. The next part is all of that you’ve already read just written in a different way. I’m not entirely sure it painted Diana in a very good light at times. But interesting nonetheless. Read off the back of watching The Crown Wouldn’t read again but satisfied to have read it
