Review: I'm absolutely loving the book so far. All the recipes I've tried have been really delicious and have provided some well-needed meal time inspiration for my partner and I. Some of the ingredients used are a little more specialist but can easily be found in big supermarkets and health food stores or even online if you're struggling so don't let this put you off, and once you've got them in your store cupboard they're then there for any future recipes. The only negative I have encountered so far is the lack of food pictures (something also highlighted by a lot of other reviewers) - I can only assume the author plans to release accompanying YouTube videos to go alongside with some of the recipes, however for those who have bought the book but don't watch her videos, a few more food pictures would have been a helpful and much appreciated addition.

Review: It’s disappointing because the author said that this book would be accessible but it’s not really unless you have lots of time and money. It seems like every other recipe calls for pink Himalayan sea salt or raw unrefined coconut oil (people across the world have been eating the refined stuff for decades, if not longer but suddenly we must all eat raw). She also has almond milk and almond butter as core ingredients – the types she buys are not cheap. It’s really a shame she didn’t include details of how to make them as they are very easy to make and work out much cheaper than buying. The core equipment lists Blender – mentions a nutribullet, Juicer, Food processor and Spiralizer – if you don’t already have these you are looking at well over a hundred pounds. Moving on to the recipes they seem to contain many exotic and or expensive ingredients – yes you might not need a lot but initial outlay is still required. Examples include Goji berries, Acai powder, exotic mushrooms, brown rice pasta, nutritional yeast, spelt flour, buckwheat flour, rye flour, chia seeds, spirulina, baobab powder, hemp powder and I could go on. Don’t get me wrong the book is beautiful if lacking in pictures of the food rather than of Niomi, however a lot of the recipes are going to require amendments and substitutions for a person on an average budget. I won’t be sending the book back as I think I should be able to adjust the recipes to suit my budget and time available, however I’m very disappointed that this book isn’t more accessible for the average person who doesn’t live in London or near a large supermarket/health food store where you can find all these exotic ingredients.
