Review: I got this book with the intention to gain an understanding of what is currently going on in the USA and its implications. The book did not meet my expectations, and I did read it cover to cover. This book is just a dictionary for economic terms; it does not delve into details at all. If all you want out of this book is to gain a surface level understanding of economic buzz words that one may hear on the news, then may I suggest just ask Mr. Google (you will definitely learn more). There are absolutely no details in this book. If one wants to know cause and effect, one will be disappointed. There are times where the author mentions A may lead to B but does not explain why. A good analogy for this book is like a dinner recipe that lists out the ingredients only but does not tell you the procedure or steps or what ingredient leads to what flavor profile. I was taken aback by the sheer number of chapters in this book. There are so many that the writer didn't even bother numbering them. Each chapter is 3-5pages. The author should have condensed the dictionary-style 65 chapters into 9-10 ones that clearly explain the topic and its influence on the greater economy. Economics is a study of cause and effect, and unfortunately, this isn't a good economics book. This book isn't meant for anyone who has some idea of economics. This book is meant for a person who does not even have a highschooler's knowledge of economics. It's an easy read though. I will not return this book, but I will be buying college level textbooks to enhance my knowledge and understanding.
