Review: My 8 year old is all about Frida right now, so I was excited to come across this. If you have learned about her before, there's a good chance you may know many of the facts in this book HOWEVER, I feel like it's presented in such a great way- as the girl's report. This is great because it's a bit like having a fellow kid/ student sharing info in a way that's understandable to the child. The character shows enthusiasm toward learning about Frida and lightly shares how she can connect to some of Frida's story- which is a good example for kids building their reading skills. The pictures of Frida's art and the illustrations make it a bit more fun than if it was reading just facts. Each parent has different opinions about what would be appropriate for their children- which is how it should be. I am posting the 2 things that I think might be possible issues for some to give you an idea if you would be fine with it or not. One is her family tree painting and it's her as a child naked. The other is Frida in her bed with a cigarette in her had and the character captions it "I wish she wasn't smoking". The quality of the cover seems fine, to me-I think it's just like any other paperback book.
