Review: A wonderful compendium of Jazz and Blues. Many of these songs were mega-hits in their day and have stood the test of time. I can just picture my parents dancing away to "In the Mood". This tune, popularized by Glenn Miller is catchy, uplifting and one of my all time favorites. Another monster hit, "Tuxedo Junction" is super cool with its invigorating rhythm and spectacular jazz melody. "Misty" by Errol Garner is an emotionally touching beauty. You may not realize it but I'll bet you are familiar with each of these songs as they are so widely played. This book is very easy to play and great for beginners with some practice. Early intermediate players will find them easy to learn and late intermedIates will be able to sight-read them. The arrangements are beautiful, clever and can really be enjoyed by any level pianist. I would highly recommend this book.

Review: I got this book for my 8 and 9 year olds. The lyrics on some of the songs are in my opinion too mature for them. Examples: “who’s the livin dolly with the beautiful eyes? What a pair of lips, I’d like to try them for size” “I didn’t know if it was day or night; I started kissing everything in sight.” For me, I’d just rather not have this book around than trying to monitor which songs get played/read.
