Review: We use audiobooks in the car for my 16 month old as a way to calm her down if she's getting stroppy/hungry/bored and this is a great one!! Mr Tenant surprised me at how good his story telling is. The use of props/sound effects is just right as well without too many crashes and bangs but it's honestly the best one we've had for ages!!

Review: I bought this for my 5 year old bilingual daughter so that she can practice hearing more English. For one thing, it should state in the description of this CD that the reader speaks these stories in a fairly distinct Scottish accent (yes, I know David Tennant is Scottish, but I thought he might tone it down for this children's reading). My daughter can't understand at all what he is saying. Also, the stories contain a lot of vocabulary describing action which is fairly advanced for ages 2-5. In an audiobook without pictures, it would be difficult for a child to understand what is going on and to learn the new words. I think this audiobook only would be suited for a child who already has the stories in a hard copy and who can understand Scottish English well. That's a rather restricted audience, indeed!
