Review: This is a great story that leads into a brilliant series! This pictures are excellent and the story is fun. The kids can join in with parts once it’s been read before and can add lots of extra ideas using the illustrations! Highly recommend for any kids up to 7!!

Review: My 5 year old daughter is a massive Albie fan. Having devoured all four previous books, I was thrilled when I spotted How To Catch A Dragon and we settled down to read it together. However, as we read through it it soon became clear that it isn't quite up to the same brilliant standard of How To Grow A Dinosaur and Supermarket Zoo. The story is predictable and bland, with none of the Albie sparkle to set it apart. There's inconsistency in the character naming (Sir Cuthbert Clinkety-Clank is alternately referred to as Sir Cuthbert or Sir Clinkety-Clank with no apparent logic behind the choice, which could be confusing for younger readers), and, most frustratingly of all for parents whose children are beginning to learn to read and spell, one character speaks (and is written with) colloquial dialect. Follow becomes foller, here, becomes ere...it certainly does nothing to help young readers improve their understanding of the language. A fun, quick read, but one that unlike the previous Albie books will be easily forgotten.
