Review: This book contains five stories, Oliver Twist, Bleak House, Great Expectations, A Tale of Two Cities and David Copperfield. In addition there is a story about the life and times of Charles Dickens. Each story is about 70 pages long, with illustrations on nearly every page and the tales are told in an entertaining manner, making this book an ideal introduction to Dickens for young children. Moreover, the pages and binding are of good quality so it should last a long time.

Review: Read this with my children and think it is a nice introduction to the stories of Dickens, I was inspired by all the Dickens on TV and wanted to share a master storyteller with them. They enjoyed the stories but were concerned about the amount of death and misery - a good introduction to the harsher side of life in Victorian Britain. The stories deal with death very matter of factly and are certainly not gory and do not dwell on the subject but in keeping true to the originals they need to be kept in. Would definitely recommend but maybe not for younger children or those that may be more sensitive.
