Review: The book is well written and inspired creation. I bought it prior to attending a Kantha workshop. Another student had done likewise and several were inspired to order it on return home. It was a winner!!

Review: This book is OK as an introduction to Kantha and is priced much lower than any other. The illustrations aren't particularly clear (It would have been better to show the steps in individual boxes), and the rather uppity tone of the writing lets it down - the author comes over as full of herself and very keen on her status as an 'artist' rather than a craftsperson. No sources, substitutions or recommendations are given for items such as 'turban cloth' or thread, though I could work out from the images that, for instance, Madeira six-strand is used. However, the author's work is beautiful (especially the monochrome pieces) and at the back of the book there are outlines to copy if you don't do your own drawings. I've been able to create some kantha pieces following the instructions, so the book has fulfilled its purpose but I'll be looking for another one.
