Review: This book is truly a wonderful work of art! My 5yr old daughter is autistic and currently obsessed with Leonardo Da Vinci, and particularly his machines. She's spent 2 separate hours today, studying this book, and working out how all the parts move. We all know Da Vinci was a genius, but I also think this author is, as his pop up illustrations are the best I've seen, most with moving parts which add another layer of interest. They are intricate, and delicate, so wouldn't stand up to grabbing children, but luckily my daughter is extremely careful, and I'm confident she can handle this book on her own.

Review: Its very clever, but the mechanisms are sometimes a bit flimsy, eg the flying machine tore quite easily when I first adjusted the levers (and I was being really careful). some of the other popups jam a little here and there, its not as smooth to operate as the Walking Dead popup, which is brilliant. 8/10
