Review: We loved this guide! Our son is 6 and it was his first time in Paris, but this guidebook will last and last for a few more trips. It's not just a list of facts or places (you need a map to go with it), but is made up of a series of themes, covering the whole city. We went to a few things simply because they looked intriguing in the book (the Arts et Metiers line 11 station, for example, which looks like a Jules Verne submarine, or some of the weird and wonderful sculptures on bridges), and enjoyed quoting 'did you know?' things out of it to each other. On a practical note, it's pretty sturdy, and also has lots of space for sellotaping tickets etc as souvenirs afterwards!

Review: This was disappointing from a company like Lonely Planet. It was cute, but not particularly informative. Each section was supposed to be connected by a theme, but the threads were loose, at best. And there was not a single map! There were arrows from one item to another, but that's it. My 6th grader found in useless for our trip to Paris last month. I've happily used Lonely Planet guides for 50 years. Avoid this one.
