Description: The Cheyenne are convinced that newly-arrived settlers have been killing the buffalo they traditionally depend on. When the Native Americans surround the 20th Cavalry's fort, Lucky Luke realises that someone who bears a grudge against Colonel Mc Straggle has conveniently provided them with firearms. Worse, the traitor also knows the layout of the fort. Lucky Luke does his best to try and break the deadlock before the soldiers starve. As in other Lucky Luke volumes, readers discover different aspects of the United States' conquest of the Wild West. Review: Here we go again - another classic Lucky Luke book translated for the first time into English by Cinebook - and it is typically lots of fun. This time they are poking fun at authority figures. The Indian chief who smokes a dreadful peace pipe - so much so that even other Indian chiefs won't touch it... and the cavalry colonel who is hell bent on doing things by the rule book, even despatching officers to peel potatoes when he knows well there aren't any to peel. As usual Lucky Luke has to try to carve a way through these characters to find a common ground for peace. There are some great set pieces for comedy in this book - it is simply great!
