Review: Mieruko-chan is a wordplay on the main character and means the Girl that Can See Invisible Things Nobody Else Can, which is an apt title for the manga series. Miko can indeed all of a sudden see such things, and while the exact nature is unclear (ghosts? yokai? something else?) they are everywhere and 99.5% of them look terrifying. At first Miko ignores them, but while working to some extent, it is not a long-term solution especially since her best friend Hana draws them in like a moth to the flame. She does ask for outside help, but at what price? The spirits are one of the biggest draws of the series to me, most look terrifying and studying the details of their appearance can tell something about their nature. The characters are interesting as well and not everything is what it appears to be. It is mostly of a mystery horror with little to no action, which for me is a plus. The comedy made me smile several times. If I have one complaint about the series, especially in the earlier volume, it is ecchi scenes. While tame, such as a shot of the characters behind while she is grabbing the salt from a cupboard, it feels out of place. The chapter with the many armed ghost, Hana and the school nurse felt especially out of place, even more so with what we learn about Hana later on. Still, it becomes less in your face later on. All in all, a good mystery horror with a bit of comedy. Well worth my money. I am curious whether things are answered or that most of it remains vague and tbh I am not sure which I prefer.

Review: I wanted the manga because I saw the anime first and I just had to know what happened next. I absolutely love this series. It was better than I expected. The art is amazing. It's crazy in just the right way for me.
