Review: There is a range of natural health type books by this author and the one's i ordered have exactly the same information duplicated in them which i found out after purchase so here is what to do.. Buying the book "complete heath and wellbeing" means having the both the "full" Neal's Yard Remedies book with a really big range of hebal remedies (listed by herbs not ailments) as well as the "full" book of aromatherapy withe breif sections on ailments, product making and teas as a whole book in one for those interested in both books.. The content is the same barring literally an utterly tiny handful of items.. The images are so beautuful & inspiring for the herbs as you can see exactly what they look like to avoid mistakes when sourcing (vital for health and safety) and for the oils there are just small amounts of information on a variation of things such as: * what it does * what it treats * methods * what you can make with it There are no medication interactions and little on cautions. Thwre are more uses to the oils than are listed but the information is still useful, just not complete but a good start for learners. It is mainly information ln single oils as opposed to oil blends. There is a very very short section with blends but there is a bit for ailments plus for things like calming and refreshing but then there is a breif section for ailments and a very short section wih products that is also illustrated in their other books that i have so this book is more for an absolute beginner and an decent start including for those that have just passed their exams and a quick but breif reference book for a practising aromatherapist. Another book would be needed for a full list of cautions for each oil and a book with medication interactions for safety unless one is found combined but the list of oils is very long. There is no information on specific health issues in any depth to gain understanding of the issue that the reader wishes to treat but again this would be an additional book. It is listed by oils, not by ailments (which i wish i could confirm before purchasing any of these types of books because i prefer listing by ailments.. There is a back index but i personally prefer to go straight to the ailment rather than an index to find the page baring in mind that there may be several oils that covers one ailment which means checking what is explained under oils on several pages. The oils are not listed in alphabetical order so you need to go to the index first each time you require to locate the information on any particuar oil. A very wide range of oils. This would not be dissapointing even though there are listed oils, the one's moat known are there and more.. a small handful of product making recepies but they do look quite nice. Nails, feet, hair, face, bath, deoderant, candle, cream, masks, scrubs, lip balm, how to make tinctures and also an ailment chart. I have not found anywhere in the book where it illustrates how to make a basic product such as cream etc before selecting a the type of oils the reader wishes to add so that they can make any cream creatig their own recepies but there are recepies for specific products for example calendula and manderin lip balm but not a recepie for making lip balms in general as a basis of you do not wish to use or cannot use or obtain the ingredients to the ingredients in that particular recepie or do not require that particular fraguance. You will find listed ingredients and really good step by step guides with the product making with measurements for the ingredients and notes are found such as "not suitable for use during pregnancy" even though there is not a full list of precausions vut they do have another book on precautions. No liquid shampoo recepie. It advises the reader to uee a nild shampoo then to add to it but no recepie from scratch has was found as with many books. Useful "basic" dialogues on conditions which can be used as a starting point for further research. Teas: there's info on that which is helpful so a bit of home remedies there. Its a tiby section but with everything together it is still varied and a nice gift for a student that's about to commence an aromatherapy courde with a good teacher plus its beautifully presented therefore it may be further appreciated.. Great quality pages and excellent hard cover If there the book was listed by ailments for the vast majority of the book i may have given it another star. The long and short of it is that i would reccommend this book for student aromatherapists but in general i would not advised anyone unqualified to practise aromatherapy any more than id advise anyone unqualified to act as a doctor that prescribes or self-administrates medication but one could commence the "rock bottom basics" using this book. Everything was fine with this particular seller also.. When discribing any health books that you buy the above depth and variety of information can be really helpful as opposed to "good book, interesting content", how its listed us important.. by ailment ir product etc.. I hope all the above helps
