Description: Bobby Sands was 27 years old when he died. He spent almost nine years of his life in prison because of his Irish republican activities. He died, in prison, on 5 May 1981, on the sixty-sixth day of his hunger strike at Long Kesh Prison, outside Belfast. This book documents a day in the life of Bobby Sands. It is a tale of human bravery, endurance and courage against a backdrop of suffering, terror and harassment. It will live on as a constant reminder of events that should never have happened - and hopefully will never happen again. Review: I was a boy when Bobby Sands was in the news headlines. I always wondered what and why? Now I know, I am ashamed of what was called Britain, at that time. That government, if it were this day, would be taken to task. Thatcher was no better than a Chinese or North Korean dictator, when it came to the Irish in the six counties. Considering Nelson Mandella was a convicted terrorist and Bobby Sands was portrayed as one, bearing in mind they both were fighting for the same rights, it's amazing how people can alter views for there popularity and influence media. Bobby Sands RIP.
