Review: I’m a critical care nurse in the NHS and I bought this book for my 14-month old son. I bought this because I was impressed by Chris Ferrie’s other books but I’m underwhelmed by this issue. I was hoping that instead of just mentioning ‘good hygiene’ as a measure to prevent infectious spread, he could have emphasised that proper handwashing is the single most effective way of reducing microorganisms that can cause disease. It seemed to me that the key take home message of washing hands and improving immunity was lost in the book. Also, I feel there is no organisation in the thought the book wanted to impart; I wish the book was organised this way - that there is a microorganism, the microorganism causes sickness, the method of transmission causes spread, the spread can worsen to a global scale, and that there is a means to stop the spread. And by the way, two pages have been duplicated in the final book.
