Review: This was a thoroughly satisfying conclusion to a complex fantasy set in a unique and fully-realised magical world. The rich cast is enhanced by the introduction of a new POV narrator that manages to flesh out corners of this world we hadn't seen before. Full of intrigue, suspense, treachery, and action, this is a duology that begs for a companion novel. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Rakel!

Review: I’ll say 3.75, 3.8 out of 5 for this one. It was good but the last 100 pages was a bit odd. Random characters seemed to be appear and disappear and it felt somewhat rushed.
